🙈 Embarrassing moments that make us better leaders

Happy Friday Leaders!

I got well out of my comfort zone this week and loved it!

During my trip to South Korea, I ventured out on my own in Seoul for dinner, on the hunt for dolsot bap. Little did I know that I have NO IDEA how to construct it, let alone eat it.

What followed was an evening full of laughter, the odd "Ohhhhh no no no no!" from service staff, and me pouring vegetables into my rice water bowl, which I now know I SHOULD not have done.

But you know what? This experience was the perfect preparation for delivering training the next day on EAL practices at Dwight School.

As we jump into the new school year, I want to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. Embrace the discomfort, the laughter, and the lessons that come with it.

Why?

Because when we put ourselves in unfamiliar situations, we develop empathy for others facing similar challenges. We become more adaptable, cultivate a growth mindset, and create opportunities for genuine connection

So, my question to you is: How will you get out of your comfort zone this school year? Will you try a new teaching method? Learn a new skill? Strike up a conversation with someone you don't usually talk with?

Hit reply and share your ideas! I'd love to hear about your adventures in stepping out of your comfort zone.
